Barbara Proud is a commercial photographer and for the past 20 years, the president of B. Proud Photography, Inc, She has developed a list of clients including the LPGA, the Human Rights Campaign, the Girl Scouts, the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKlein, and many more. As a fine art photographer, she has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally in group and solo exhibitions. In 2006, she was one of the two artists featured by the Equality Forum, the largest national and international LGBT civil rights summit and a weeklong celebration of the LGBT community. All of these experiences she shares with her students at The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, where she is an adjunct professor. Her recent social documentary has included” First Comes Love”, a project that began as a response to the passing of Proposition 8 and other discriminatory measures during the 2008 presidential election. The new phase of the project, "Transcending Love" is focused on couples in the transgender and gender non-conforming community. Photographer Links: B.
