John’s interview with Michael Wiseman of THE BIBLE SAYS WHAT?!? podcast. Michael represents an atheist worldview that has not yet thought deeply enough about the issues to find the dependence of human reason on divine reason, and who rejects, as I did, the notion that atheism represents a faith position. I truly enjoyed chatting with him. He was warm and human, and my interactions with him both before and after the podcast were not just respectful but genuinely friendly. He has been hurt, I think, by churchianity and well-meaning Christians. God understands that, and the path from atheism back to Christ is, I think, a shorter and more direct one than that from a self-satisfied agnosticism. Michael seemed genuinely curious, and not just contemptuous as he often comes across. I liked him immediately, and found nothing in my interactions with him to contradict my initial impressions.
