Robert Princic, Gradis'Ciutta

Vintner Robert Princic discusses his family winery, Gradis'Ciutta, in DOC Collio (Friuli Venezia Giulia) in San Floriano del Collio near the Slovenian border. The farm, originally called Monsvini (“Mountain of Wine”), dates to 1780. Princic’s family started Gradis’Ciutta with five hectares in 1945 after World War II; they now own 90 and practice organic farming. Princic makes white wines, a signature of the area, from native and international varieties and reds from international vareties.
