The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism 11/10/23. Bay Area Scholar dialed in to discuss some of his workplace challenges. Even though he was awarded "Employee of the Month" for his top-notch barista work; he was reprimanded for repeatedly forgoing his lunch break to cover for absent and shiftless co-workers. We remind non-white workers to refrain from taking on workplace duties and responsibilities that are not your assignment. Black and non-white workers are often encouraged to work ourselves sick toiling to cover company shortcomings. Do not feel obligated or pressured to cover every vacant shift or to correct every problem. The "Veterans Day" holidays means a number of non-white people in the US might have time away from the plantation. Be safe and constructive with your time. We'll discuss the alarming rise in attacks on small businesses around the US. Here in Washington state, many small businesses have moved out of Seattle proper.
