Guevara holds an MFA in painting from the New York Academy of Art (2014) and a BFA from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (2009). Primarily working in paintings, sculptures, and installations, her work delves into themes of womanhood, identity, and belonging. Additionally, she celebrates the intrinsic connection between humankind and nature. She has received numerous grants and residencies, including the Tashkeel Art Residency in Dubai, the Eric Fischl ’66 Artist-in-Residence Teaching Program at WNA, USA, the Academy's Fellowship Award in 2015, and the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant. Publications such as Forbes Magazine, Time Out NYC, VICE, and The National News UAE have featured Alonsa's work. She has also exhibited internationally in countries like China, the UAE, Mexico, Denmark, Argentina, and Chile. Her most recent solo exhibition, "Counting Leaves," took place in April 2023 at the Tashkeel Gallery Alserkal in Dubai.
