How Putin's War unifies Europe (with Amb. Rastislav Káčer)

From the Eastern Front, Iulia and Dalibor join Giselle for a conversation with Slovak Ambassador to the Czech Republic Rastislav Káčer. The ambassador outlines how Putin is already losing the war in Ukraine. All discuss the questions: When will Putin lose the war? And what will the costs be? The ambassador also sheds light on Central European support for Ukraine, comparing and contrasting the Czech Republic and Slovakia's aid of Ukraine. Given some countries' support for Russia, like Hungary, the ambassador shares research explaining why Central European countries are trending poorly when it comes to susceptibility to Russian propaganda and influence. Nonetheless, the ambassador notes how Putin's war in Ukraine has revamped Ukraine's want for "European-ness" and how the war has unexpectedly, positively fostered European unity.

Ensuring the balance of power in Europe has, since the inception of our republic, been a core security interest for the US. Today, and for the entire post-Cold War period, the challenges to the European peace have emerged along the line running roughly from the Baltic to the Black Sea. This is what we call the Eastern Front. Our goal in this podcast is to better inform the American people about what’s going on there. Join us, Iulia Joja and Dalibor Rohac every week on in our discussions on what’s next for “The Eastern Front.”
