He is also the editor of Ultraphysical, an online journal of the active body. Most of his writing focuses on culture, politics, the natural environment, and wellness. He has been published in multiple languages and featured in periodicals such as Quillette, The Brooklyn Rail, All Azimuth, Le Courrier (Japon), Alias Magazin, among others.    Educated and raised in the Northeast, Joe is a Fulbright Scholar and has worked and conducted research across Europe and in Turkey. In 2018, he received my doctorate in Politics from the New School for Social Research, where he focused on the global politics of large-scale engineering projects and their impact on state formation during the Cold War.
