#14: Do you really need to speak like a native?

If you are an English language learner, then you have probably seen or heard the word "native speaker" a lot. Nowadays, it seems like everyone is saying that you MUST sound like a native speaker if you want to have good English. But imagine if you did not have to sound like a native speaker to have good English. Imagine that you could be a very good speaker, even a fluent speaker, without sounding like a native speaker. You don't have to imagine it because it's already true. Sounding like a native speaker should not be your goal in 2023. In fact, trying to sound like a native speaker actually slows down your English progress. We are going to tell you why in this week's podcast.
