Ep 126: Owning Your Identity at Work with Tricia Timm

In this week’s episode I sat down with Tricia Montavo Timm. Tricia is a first generation Latina who has achieved success in the C-suite, boardroom, and venture capital. She has compiled her life stories and strategies into her new book, “Embrace the Power of You: Owning Your Identity at Work”.   Tricia Timm learned The Power Of Being You at Work through her own journey in the workplace. She experienced the challenge of being a first-generation professional, a working Mom, and a Latinx in predominantly white and male-dominated spaces. She wrote a book, “Embrace the Power of You: Owning Your Identity at Work”, to share her personal stories and tips on how to create an inclusive workplace. She encourages readers to embrace self-acceptance, recognize the fears around hiding a part of their identity, give themselves grace, and find ways to be visible and welcomed in their workplace.   "Belonging begins with self acceptance - the book is really the reader's journey to self acceptance as well as managers that are trying to create inclusive environments."   In this episode, you will learn the following:   1. How Tricia Timm, a first generation professional and working mom, overcame struggles to reach a point of career success and impact. 2. How to recognize and address one's fear of being an "other" in the workplace. 3. How to create inclusive environments that encourage self-acceptance and belonging.   Connect with us: We’d love to hear from you.
