Paul's Near Death Experience

What if you stared death in the face then couldn't work for a while?  With time to think, how would you feel about what you have achieved so far?  Would any of it even matter all that much?  Would your priorities be different afterwards? Paul is a self employed blacksmith and small business owner, faced with a major health event and unexpected open heart surgery 2 years ago, with a wife and 2 small kids at home. He and his wife Becky talk us through the experience, the striving that characterised his working life before, and the changes in his priorities in life and work afterwards. Om Podcasten

I'm Alastair Johnson from Freebird Interiors on Youtube and in this podcast series due to start in February 2020 I'll be chatting with a wide range of other woodworkers, focusing mainly on fitted furniture manufacture and installation. I want to understand how and why they build things the way they do, including their choice of materials, tools and techniques. I also want to get under the skin of what motivates and inspires them, what led them to do this kind of work in the first place, what they love about it, what they hate about it, and what motivates them to keep doing it as a career.
