The Flute Space | Ernestine Whitman | S.3 Ep. 6

In our newest episode we spoke to flutist and author Ernestine Whitman about her new book "Countermelodies - a memoir in sonata form", in which she raises awareness for harassment, abuse and playing with power in the classical music scene through her very own personal story of being a young orchestra musician. Meanwhile she is long retired after almost 30 year of being flute professor at Lawrance University in Appleton, Wisconsin - she therefore has also a lot of experience in giving advice to young musicians. Go check out her brilliantly written book, where Ernestine offers a very personal insight in what can happen in the classical music scene next to all the glamour.
