How to Stay in The Zone When Playing Well

When playing well, do you tend to take yourself out of the zone? In this week's golf psychology session, mental game of golf expert and author of The Mental Game of Golf, Dr. Cohn, responds to a question from Tom. Tom tends to jerk himself out of the zone when he is playing well. Here's what he had to say about his game: "I'll play incredible for a few holes and then i'll think about how great im playing and what would it feel like to win... BAM! A double or a triple bogey. Then the process repeats... Most recently in my club championship, I went up 3 after 6 against my arch rival and started thinking, 'I've got him! I'm good enough,' and BAM! Again I lost my focus; I rolled off 3 bogeys in a row. May the turn even and he finally won 2 up with 1 to play. What's going on with this?" Listen to the podcast to learn what Dr. Cohn says you should focus on to stay in the zone. Great Resources for Golfers: Download a free golf psychology report to improve your preshot routine.
