The Happy Writer 18: Can I Pay Someone To Do My Advertising For Me?

Can I pay for someone to do my advertising for me? The Happy Writer episode 18. This is one of the questions that gets asked the most often in writer groups.  A new writer have discovered they don't like marketing and is willing to throw money at the marketing problem to make it go away. Except when you're a writer (traditionally published or selfpublished) the marketing never "goes away". Is it a good idea to employ someone to do it for you, and what sort of questions do you need to ask yourself. Where do you find such a person. How do you make sure they're not selling you shovels for your DIY gold rush? If you enjoy this show, please put some money in the tip jar at Patreon. I am an author of science fiction and fantasy. If you're selfpublishing or interested in self-publishing, but you want to enjoy it, get off the hamster wheel of fast production or piling money into ads, this is the place to be. I've been self-publishing since 2011 and have made a stable income at it while jumping on new platforms I liked, but staying off the ones I considered a time suck. I'll be talking about things like: do you really need to spend so much time on social media? How can you set up passive advertising? How do you diagnose what you need to improve? I sell fiction, nothing else. This podcast is for fun.
