Electronic Jazz, Part 3: Early Synthesizer Jazz

This episode is the conclusion of my three-part miniseries on the history of vintage electronic jazz. Part 1 concerned the use of electronic music on tape with jazz musicians; Part 2 explored the amplification of jazz instruments and the tricked-out sounds that could be created. Part 3 explores the arrival of the synthesizer as a new expressive instrument in jazz.
