"The spotlight is turned to several new albums on today’s episode of The Jazz Hole with Linus. Branches, Vol. 2 by the NYC-based Japanese violinist and composer Tomoko Omura just came out on Outside In Music, the Claudio Scolari Project from Italy self-released their fifth album Cosmology, and two new albums recently came out on the Argentinean label Ears & Eyes Records: Mythomania by the New Orleans-based group Matt Booth & Palindromes and Oxímoron by the Buenos Aires-based trumpet player and composer Joaquín Muro. In 2009 Linus Wyrsch joined the team of DJs at BTR and took over the bi-weekly jazz show,The Jazz Hole. Being a sought-after clarinetist and saxophonist, himself, in the Big Apple, Linus embraces a unique relationship with the jazz genre and its musicians, consequently providing the listeners with a backstage pass to the New York jazz scene. The hour-long show features the music of new talents from inside and outside of the New York circuit, and every once in a while, Linus is able to sneak in a major jazz artist, sometimes accompanied with a short interview. Over the years, he has interviewed John Clayton, Lew Tabackin, Fred Hersch, Sue Mingus, Steve Gadd, Jojo Mayer, Gerald Clayton, Javon Jackson, the President of Resonance Records George Klabin, Sofia Rei, Sharel Cassity, Mark Sherman, Harvie S, Jean-Michel Pilc, Dafnis Prieto, Randy Johnston, Helen Sung, Gregorio Uribe and many others.
