"Today’s episode of The Jazz Hole with Linus features interview guest Nick Fraser. The longtime Toronto-based drummer and composer talks about two brand new albums that he is part of: “Irrational Revelation and Mutual Humiliation” by Peripheral Vision and “Vortex” by ITACA 4et. Peripheral Vision is lead by Don Scott and Michael Herring but features their collaborators and friends Trevor Hogg and Nick Fraser. Irrational Revelation and Mutual Humiliation is their fifth (double) album. ITACA 4et is a relatively newly formed quartet consisting of the two Canadian musicians Francois Houle Nick Fraser and the two Italian musicians Nicola Fazzini and Alessandro Fedrigo. Vortex is their debut album. Other music today comes from “Zoning”, Nick’s own latest album with Kris Davis and Tony Malaby (featuring Ingrid Laubrock and Lina Allemano). In 2009 Linus Wyrsch joined the team of DJs at BTR and took over the bi-weekly jazz show,The Jazz Hole. Being a sought-after clarinetist and saxophonist, himself, in the Big Apple, Linus embraces a unique relationship with the jazz genre and its musicians, consequently providing the listeners with a backstage pass to the New York jazz scene. The hour-long show features the music of new talents from inside and outside of the New York circuit, and every once in a while, Linus is able to sneak in a major jazz artist, sometimes accompanied with a short interview.
