Pat Tillman’s Mother On Who Killed Her Son, Julia Rock On What Caused Train Derailment
Pat Tillman's Mother, Mary Tillman, and journalist Narda Zacchino join the show to talk about their efforts to uncover the truth surrounding the circumstances of Pat’s death and their book "Boots on the Ground By Dusk: Searching for Answers in the Death of Pat Tillman." But first, reporter Julia Rock talks about the Norfolk Southern train derailment, which she's covered for The Lever. Julia Rock is an investigative reporter at The Lever, covering business and politics. Pat Tillman gave up his professional football career to join the U.S. Army Rangers after 9/11. In 2004, Pat was shot and killed in Afghanistan in a friendly fire gun battle. Yet the story told by the government was quite different. Mary Tillman, Pat’s mother, documents her family’s crusade to uncover the truth and expose the cover-up of Pat’s death orchestrated by senior military officials. Narda Zacchino is a lifelong journalist, former masthead editor at the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle, author of two books, one on Pat Tillman and one a contemporary history of California. She is currently the editor of ScheerPost, a daily news website. ***Please support The Katie Halper Show *** For bonus content, exclusive interviews, to support independent media and to help make this program possible, please join us on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/thekatiehalpershow Follow Katie on Twitter: https://twitter.com/kthalps
