131. Leana Fischer - Turning Your Art Practice Into a Sustainable Business

Leana Fischer discovered her love of painting in 2013 when she left her job as an architect and moved from Virginia to Arkansas. While Leana was in-between jobs she had a bit of time or as Leana calls it ‘white space’. She broke out her watercolour paints and quickly realised that this was what she really wanted to do. In 2014 she opened her online shop (May We Fly). Little by little, one painting at a time, it slowly became her full-time career. In this episode, Leana talks about building skills through rigorous practice, creating breakthrough products, setting up multiple income streams and building a small and faithful audience. If you are thinking about starting an art business or you are in the early stages of your career, this is such a helpful conversation!
