How to Be Sick with Pema Khandro Rinpoche and Toni Bernhard

Toni Bernhard is the author of multiple books, including How to Be Sick: a Buddhist-Inspired Guide for the Chronically Sick and their Caregivers. Pema Khandro Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist teacher and scholar. Both have known chronic illness first-hand. In this especially relevant conversation in the coronavirus era they talk about personally relating to health and sickness through the Buddhist lens, and Bernhard describes the teachings that continue to help her find peace even 20 years after being diagnosed with what initially seemed like a flu, but turned out to be a life changing illness from which she has yet to recover.
