Jo Tucker

On the cusp of turning forty and having her third child, 39-year-old Jo Tucker lost 90 per cent of her hair in two weeks. What followed was an ‘Alopecia Universalis’ diagnosis, a testing road to self-acceptance, a great love affair with wigs, and a redefinition of what it means to feel beautiful. Now 41, Jo shares her story of living with Alopecia and how it challenged so much of what she thought she knew about herself. Our chat with Jo is a masterclass in wig culture, finding confidence in the face of adversity, and silver linings. (spoiler alert: according to Jo, the feeling of rain on a bald head is next level amazing!) Every woman has a story to tell. This is Jo’s.
