Joining us today is Dr. Stephen Malthouse, MD. Dr. Malthouse has been practising medicine for over 42 years in a variety of settings in British Columbia, Canada. He has worked in urban and rural family medicine practices, walk-in clinics, emergency rooms, and palliative care. Additionally, Dr. Malthouse spent 2 years as a university researcher in Kathmandu, Nepal in the field of childhood diseases. He is the current president of the Canadian Integrative Medicine Association, a group of doctors across Canada who blend alternative therapies, such as homeopathy, functional medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and orthomolecular medicine, into regular medical office practice.  Dr. Malthouse has a particular interest in nutrition and how nutritional supplements can improve immunity, especially with respect to vitamin D deficiency and viral infections. Taking a sabbatical this year, he has dedicated his time to studying the Covid-19 pandemic and keeping abreast of the day-to-day influx of research.
