Matrescence: the word we all need with Lucy Jones

Welcome to this week’s episode with Lucy Jones. She is an investigative journalist, award-winning author and has just written a new book called Matrescence. Matresence is one of my favourite words and subjects ever. It describes the process of becoming a mother - the confusing discombobulating cocktail of emotions that happens when we transition from woman to mother. All the physical, emotional and spiritual changes. A bit like the transition from teenager to adult. Listen to hear about: -   What matresence means and its anthropological roots -   Our position as a mother in today’s society and how it’s geared to be against mothers -   Why we need more support in society and Lucy’s thoughts on how we can receive that If only all mothers knew this word, I think we would have found it so much easier to be kind to ourselves, knowing it’s meant to be a bumpy journey. - Special thanks to our sponsors Athletic Greens Visit https://athleticgreens.com/motherkind to get a FREE year supply of immune-supporting Vitamin D AND 5 free travel packs with your first purchase.
