Competition In The Chronic Illness Community

we spend so much time trying to convince others in our lives how sick we truly are, or how much pain we're in. instead of competing to see who has it worse, let's use this little corner of the internet to support, validate, and uplift each other! hi, I'm Christine, and welcome (back) to the MyIBSLife podcast! one thing I am so thankful for is this online IBS / chronic illness community we've built together. I can confidently say that 99% of the time, this is the best, most caring, most empathetic group of people... until that one occasional "I WISH I *only* had IBS" comment comes in and RUINS IT FOR EVERYONE this episode is just a reminder to be kind to your fellow gut-impaired friends, and to be thoughtful of what you're saying to others (online or IRL). we may have different illnesses/conditions/symptoms/triggers/etc., but we're all fighting similar battles. thank you to every single one of you who makes this community so bright and loving and accepting and supportive. you all make a difference in someone's life every single day just by being here, especially mine! thank YOU for being here & listening! make sure to subscribe & rate this podcast!make sure to also subscribe & follow me on Instagram & TikTok talk again soon! xo --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/myibslife/support
