Birthing in a Traditional Japanese Birthing House

Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Vicky. Vicky is a mum of one originally from Germany, now living in Japan. She arrived in Japan at three months pregnant with her husband, and at that time she new very little about giving birth and she noticed that very few of the hospital staff spoke English so she quickly realized she needed to do her own research about birth, which lead her into learning about natural birth. And at 6 months pregnant, Covid-19 and lockdown happened and she was faced with the fact that most Japanese hospitals wouldn’t allow her partner, or any support people, to be present at the birth. She therefor searched for an alternative way of birthing where her partner could be present, and found a traditional Japanese birth centre.  In this episode we get to hear about how that decision, and her research and practice of meditation, visualization, affirmations etc, lead to Vicky giving birth peacefully to her daughter, Via Yuna in a traditional Japanese house with her partner.
