Desert Home Birth with GDM at 42 years old
Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Letitia Letitia is a 42-year-old mama of one from Alice Springs, Australia. She knew even before she got pregnant that she wanted to birth at home after witnessing her friend do so in her 20’s. And as soon as she fell pregnant she booked in with the midwifery group practice for a home birth. However, early in her pregnancy she got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and had to fight and advocate for herself to not be booted out of having a home birth. In the end she had her dream birth at home with her partner Tim and home birth midwives who held a safe, physiological birth space which led to Letitia experiencing the fetal ejection reflex where your body takes over and births your baby.
