Empowering Home Birth after Caesarian
Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Dawn Dawn is a mama of 2 from Ohio. She’s also a certified registered nurse anesthetist and even though she wanted a natural birth with her first, she didn’t want to be a difficult patient and ended up with an unnecessary induction and C/S with her OBGYN. When she fell pregnant again, she began her care with another OBGYN that was positive about vaginal birth after caesarian, but at 28 weeks she opted out and chose private midwifery care to be able to have a home birth and the birth she truly wanted. And at 40 weeks and 3 days she went into labour and labored at home with her supportive VBAC team and husband. After about 7 hours of labour at home she birthed her baby by herself, lifting her own daughter up to her chest and saying over and over again ”I did it, and it’s so safe”.
