Katharine’s Empowering Natural Breech VBAC
Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Katharine. Katharine is a mama of two from Maine, USA, where she lives in her hand built off-grid house with her family. She is a jeweler and artist working out of her home studio so she can be a full time mama and work around her kids needs. In today’s episode Katharine shares about her three births. Her first was a stillbirth for anyone wanting to skip this part, jump ahead 10min into the episode. I do find so much value in talking about miscarriages and stillbirths as it is a reality for 1 in 4 women and I want to reduce the taboo and hush hush culture around this sad reality for some women. These stories need to be told as well and Katharine had such beautiful wisdom and healing come through for her and her maternal linage through this experience. Her second baby was a breech baby and in her state there was no option for her to birth vaginally at the time and she was ushered into having a caesarian which affected her bonding and postpartum experience. When she fell pregnant for the 3rd time and her 3rd baby was also wanting to be born breech she decided to go to the next state, hire a midwife and have a breech VBAC.
