49. Walking by the Spirit in Racial Harmony // With Dr. Nathan Cartagena

Dr. Nathan Cartegena, professor, author and speaker, sits down with Tim to discuss the issues of racialization within the Evangelical church and how to relearn a new path toward Biblical understanding of restorative justice. Dr. Nathan Cartagena gives some of his background and how he came to discuss specific intersectionality of the Evangelical church and race. Tim and Dr. Cartagena discuss generational patterns of racism and what wounds are caused to both white and POC communities through erroneous teachings by the Evangelical church. Next, Tim and Dr. Cartagena talk about how the ideas of walking with the Spirit and Biblical understanding of restorative justice connect. Lastly, Tim and Dr. Cartagena look at the direction forward for the white Evangelical church, and those deconstructing from it, by detaching the church from Empire.
