The Problem With Predictions

There’s nothing wrong with predictions themselves. The problem comes in how we relate to predictions. It’s our nature to seek comfort and certainty, so we often rely too heavily on predictions to accurately tell us what to expect.Predictions are only useful for understanding what “the experts” currently believe is probable.*But, we’re constantly receiving new information about a rapidly evolving world, so we have to treat predictions as just one piece of a much larger puzzle. If you want a broader understanding of the future, then you must be able to set predictions aside and ask: “What else might be possible?”* “The experts” tend to be anyone with a public platform whether they have true expertise in an area or not. Therefore, the loudest(not necessarily the most knowledgeable) voices tend to shape public understanding of what is possible. If you’re struggling to create a powerful vision for the future of your organization: Check out The Foresight Academy's Certificate Program in partnership with The University of Tennessee and create a vision that inspires your team to action!_______________________________________________________________________________Additional Resources:Get a Free Copy of my Book! Learn the top 3 skills that will equip you to create the future on YOUR terms.
