EP 17: Unpacking the Immigrant Experience with Claudia C.

Claudia immigrated from Honduras to the US in 1991. As a long-time fan of "Sam in New York," she identifies with many of the themes covered in the work. She shares with us many of the struggles she had to face in America - not only language struggles, but also having to get used to a different communication style and dealing with isolation, racism, xenophobia and other issues. She also talks about how she always felt pressured to assimilate in America and how the media is always pushing immigrants and minorities in general to "be white" and be ashamed of themselves.
