Episode 353 - Why People Don’t Understand OCD

Book your free session directly, visit: www.robertjamescoaching.com   Many people just do not understand OCD. Some might have empathy and really try to get it, but others simply do not understand just how difficult OCD is to manage.  The image of OCD in popular culture is people who like to keep things orderly or who simply like to clean their hands a little more than the average person. These vague and simplified understandings of OCD serve to undermine people who are struggling with it. This is not to say that we shouldn't share our struggles with those close to us, of course some people are amazing and really try to understand and show empathy. It's important in my experience that we do at least attempt to try and share, but we also have to be aware that many people will not get it.  If this is something that you are struggling with then I hope today's episode will be of use to you. Please do feel to get win touch if you have any questions.  Disclaimer: Robert James Pizey (of Robert James Coaching) is not a medical professional and is also not providing therapy or medical treatment.
