Alan Smith - "Replacing Roy Keane was impossible"

Former Manchester United striker Alan Smith is this week's guest, with a timely appearance as his other ex-club, Leeds United, are promoted back to the Premier League. Smudge opens up about his feelings at the time of that move from Elland Road to Old Trafford, revealing how his dad broke the news to friends in their local pub. But the Yorkshireman explained it was easier with Eric Cantona and Rio Ferdinand making the same move in years prior. There are stories about learning from Sir Alex Ferguson and Roy Keane, and how he wish he had more time to shadow the former Utd Captain when the boss converted Smith to a central midfielder. Alan also goes into great detail about his career-threatening leg break against Liverpool and how he feared his foot may have needed to be amputated after the horrible injury at Anfield.
