Day 71: Rules for the Jubilee | The risen Jesus appears to his followers

In Leviticus 25, God instructs Moses on Mount Sinai about the Sabbath Year and the Year of Jubilee, teaching the Israelites about rest for the land and liberation for its people. The Year of Jubilee, occurring every 50th year, brings freedom to slaves, restitution of property, and a reminder of God’s provision and sovereignty. Will the Israelites follow God’s commands for rest and jubilation, trusting in His provision for their lives and land? In Mark 16, the narrative unfolds with Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome discovering Jesus’ tomb empty, encountering an angel who announces Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene, two disciples, and then to the eleven apostles, commissioning them to spread the gospel to all creation. The chapter culminates with Jesus’ ascension into heaven, leaving his followers with a divine mission. Will the apostles overcome their doubts and fears to fulfill Jesus’ command to spread the gospel?
