[party in my plants] 122: The Self-Talk Smackdown! Proactively Being Positive, Planning Your Freakouts & Taking a Damn Compliment. (Plus Disagreeing with Tony Robbins!) with Katie Horwitch

My guest today is a self-talk shifter. She’s a negative word redefiner. And she’s a pretty prolific one-line spitter-outer! Katie Horwitch is a writer, speaker, artist, activist and one of my dearest most favorite friends. She’s the proud founder of WANT: Women Against Negative Talk, a platform that gives women tips, tools, motivation, and inspiration to move forward in their lives by shifting their negative self-talk patterns. Katie’s brought the house down twice at The Good Fest (which is how we originally met) and regularly speaks across the country about self-confidence and self image. She’s the host of the WANTcast: The Women Against Negative Talk Podcast, where she interviews visionary ladies (I was on there! Episode 47!) about moving forward fearlessly and taking a proactive approach to positivity. She’s a trainer on Aaptiv, the #1 audio fitness app, where she gets to reach over a million sweat-seekers per month with her melodic VOICE, customized running, cycling and elliptical workouts and of course - her unique brand of outa this world positive coaching! Katie’s just an overall joy - which happens to also be her middle name (Joy) - and I’m not sure what’s taken me so long to get her cutie booty on my show but after this powerhouse of a chat I’m sure she’ll BRB.   Press play to hear:   The most brilliant definition of orthorexia I’ve ever heard How to execute a “planned freak out” Why you can’t feel fat because it’s not a feeling What Katie disagrees with Tony Robbins on Strategies to actually be able to take a compliment How. And. Why. To. Keep. Things. Neutral. The difference between hate and dislike + like and love Some personality tests that can help you get to know yourself best And sosososo much more!   Links related to this episode: The full show notes with all the deets from this episode! Existennial is a short show that muses on meaning for the millennial stuck in an existential crisis otherwise known as a Tuesday. 🙃 With warmth & wit, we'll investigate intentional living through a smorgasbord of science, spirituality, psychology, philosophy, pop culture, shower thoughts, and eavesdroppings. Talia Pollock is a writer, armchair philosopher & storyteller. Formerly the host & author of "Party in Your Plants," which put levity into eating well—her focus is now abolishing phony-baloney living to make depresh less by valuing our values more. taliapollock.com | @imtaliapollock
