[party in my plants] 77: How to Be Perfectly Cool with Being Imperfect! with Simi Botic.

My guest today used to freak out about food, her body, and not being perfect enough. It sucked. Simi Botic nearly ruined a lot of great big events in her life like her proposal (which we talk about) and her honeymoon (which we also talk about) by giving way too many craps about her body. But Simi freaks out a lot less now. Simi broke up with perfection, and in this episode, we dive all the way into how she did that and what the heck that even means. This isn’t an arbitrary conversion, by the way, helping give up perfectionism about their diet and exercise is exactly what Simi does for a living! In addition to being a coach, Simi just came out with a magnificent, hilarious and heartfelt book called “Letting Go of Leo,” which is truly so good that one night I delayed watching The Bachelor read Simi’s book in bed. I hope you know how many volumes that speaks….or big volumes that speaks? Or loud volumes it speaks?   Press play to hear:   How to let your mess become your success. How to stop focusing on being perfect all the time! Why to see failures as feedback and opportunities for growth. An argument for taking yourself to couples counseling! How to exercise your right to stop freaking out about exercise... What Mother Teresa, Sarah Silverman, and Simi have in common. A very important rule about birthday cake! And LOTS more.   Links related to this episode: The full show notes with all the deets from this episode!
