037. [2 Samuel 7:1-29] David and His God: For the Coming King

You could argue that 2 Samuel 7 is one of the most significant chapters in the entire Old Testament. The Lord makes a covenant with King David and promises to establish the throne of his kingdom forever. But this passage has very little to do with David at all. He only becomes great because the Lord has the power to do what He promises. In this inaugural sermon in a series on the life of David, Paul David Tripp reminds us that our hope is in the God who stands behind His promises.Preached on September 7, 2008.
