When is infant spit-up more than "just" spit-up?

One of the most difficult things I see in the newborn and infant stages is GERD. I call GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) a joy-stealer. Having a baby who spits up, is very uncomfortable, and/or is not gaining weight can be very tiring and emotionally draining for a new parent. I have heard many parents feel that their concerns weren't taken seriously because this is something that gets better with time. In this episode, I discuss how to differentiate regular spit up and/or colic from GERD. I also discuss how to advocate for your baby if you feel that your clinician isn't understanding your concerns. YES, GERD needs time, but there are options we can try to help you if it's truly affecting baby's comfort.
