Erik Huberman: Founder & CEO at Hawke Media: Real Entrepreneurship
In this episode, my guest Erik Huberman, Founder & CEO at Hawke Media and I focus on what it means and takes to be an entrepreneur at the core of everything you do. Erik puts it best when he says that his pivotal moment as an entrepreneur was when he asked his father for a guitar, to which his father replied “get a job.” Instead of replying with “I’m eight years old” Erik replied with action, and started his first side hustle selling beanie babies. Erik’s ability to build ventures is well-demonstrated by his track record-- he launched and sold two successful ecommerce businesses early in his career and has gone on to build multiple organizations in both the venture and agency space. His current primary role is leading Hawke Media as an “outsourced CMO” solution for many of the world’s most prominent companies. Erik works hard to live up to that value add as a true resource to aid companies just as a CMO would, and offers that to a large pool of his clients. We dig deep into the mentality and drive it takes to be an entrepreneur, and what it means to take a swing at an opportunity whenever you’re up at bat. Erik walks us through what it’s been like operating through the pandemic, and talks about how that experience actually helped him to become more confident in his business.
