Visionary Leadership and the Implementation of Measure 109 in Oregon with Tom Eckert and Alissa Bazinet - 45
In 2015, Tom Eckart and his late wife Sheri Eckert had a vision – a vision that very few people thought was possible. They wanted to make access to psilocybin legal in the State of Oregon, which led them to create and lead the measure 109 initiative. Five years later on November 3, 2020, Ballot Measure 109 was passed with support from 1.233 million Oregonians, or 55.68% of the vote. In January 2023, “psilocybin service providers” will be legally allowed to serve psilocybin, as long as they have adequate training. We are less than one year away from the rollout and implementation of Measure 109 which of course opens up a lot of questions. What does psychedelic facilitations training look like? What is the core curriculum? Who’s offering this training?How much do these psychedelic facilitation trainings cost?How long will they be? Do you have to be a therapist or medical practitioner to get licensed? Are there apprenticeship models?
