006 - Involve Yourself in Everything

Today’s quick tip is: get yourself involved in as many projects as you can handle.

1. This give you experience in all areas.

Directors want staff that can sell and market the club.  By being familiar with all of the areas, this will allow you to do just this and when you have been working there for a while and a managing (Or director) position opens up, the person that knows that club inside and out will definitely be up there on the list of candidates.

2. Lets your PTM Director/Mentor know that you are serious, which in turn may have it’s benefits when it comes to an internship.

If i was a PTM Director, I would want to give the nod to the student that seems to be the most serious about the industry, knowing all areas and is the most motivated.

Sure, this may take time, but a good internship means you are at a good club and most GOOD clubs have good contacts, or if you do a good job, want to keep you.

3. Similar to what was said in #2, it may just open up a door that you never knew was there.

The more people that you associate yourself with, the more the people there are to recommend you for positions.

I hope you can listen in and email me if you have any questions.
