He is a Fellow and Past President of the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Physics and the Energy Institute. He chairs two of the pan-Scotland research pools in Energy and Engineering and also sat on the board for ORE Catapult from 2013-2020. In Her Majesty The Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours List in 2012, Sir Jim was awarded a Knighthood for services to education, engineering and the economy. All of this and more makes Sir Jim one of Scotland’s most accomplished engineers and the perfect guest for our next In Conversation With... episode.
