RSD Black Friday 2023 Special spotlight on records by The English Beat, Gram Parsons and more.

It's the annual RSD Black Friday Special, featuring interviews with a selection of people behind certain titles on "The List." Dave Wakeling, co-founder of The English Beat, talks about the Birmingham ska band's landmark 1980 debut, I Just Can't Stop It, newly expanded into a 2 LP set with bonus live and dub tracks. Amoeba Records' David Prinz and Polly Parsons (daughter of Gram Parsons) are here to talk about a newly unearthed live recording of Gram Parsons And The Fallen Angels (featuring Emmylou Harris) called The Last Roundup: Live From The Bijou Cafe in Philadelphia, March 16, 1973. The painter Anna Jensen has assembled a cast of heavyweight musicians to toast her (very much alive and healthy) husband, Drivin' N' Cryin's Kevn Kinney on the tribute album Let's Go Dancing: Said The Firefly To The Hurricane. David J., co-founder of Bauhaus and Love And Rockets, has a triple LP set of his demos called Tracks From The Attic. And RSD co-founder Carrie Colliton checks in from Raleigh, NC. Record Store Day Black Friday is November 24, for the full list and all things Record Store Day, go to RecordStoreDay.com. Written, produced, engineered, and hosted by Paul Myers, who also composed the theme music and selected interstitial music. Sponsored by Dogfish Craft Brewery, Tito's Handmade Vodka, and Crosley turntables. Thanks for RSD's Michael Kurtz.
