U.S. sets global record of one million Covid cases reported Monday

In this episode of The ReidOut, Joy Reid brings you breaking news from the Jan. 6 congressional investigation that ties two known allies, Donald Trump and Fox News host Sean Hannity, together on insurrection day. Rep. Madeleine Dean joins us to discuss. But we begin the show with a new year, and a new record in Covid cases. The U.S. has set a global record of one million cases reported on Monday. Next, we turn to conservative Democratic Senator Joe Manchin, who is throwing cold water on Senate Democrats' plans to change Senate rules to advance voting rights legislation, if and when Republicans continue their obstruction. Finally, in tonight's edition of "The Absolute Worst," Joy observes: "If you want proof that there is no covert government conspiracy to steal your rights or oppress you, note that the government can't even organize itself to handle a snowstorm." All this and much more in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
