Zelenskyy says Russia has begun the battle for the Donbas

Joy Reid leads this edition of The ReidOut with yet another escalation of Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine. Late Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia has begun an all-out offensive in the east. In his latest video, the Ukrainian leader said that the Russian military has begun the battle for the Donbas. Malcolm Nance, executive director of the Terror Asymmetrics Project, joins us from Ukraine, where he is fighting with the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine. Plus, surveillance of the cell phones of politicians and journalists might seem like a tactic that only authoritarian regimes would use, but today we are learning more about how Democratic governments can spy on their citizens too, through the use of commercial spyware. Ronan Farrow, investigative reporter and contributing writer to The New Yorker joins us with his reporting. Finally, Joy Reid and her guests analyze the new trailer promoting Tucker Carlson's feature series, "The End of Men," showing shirtless men doing "manly" things and in one bizarre scene, a man appearing to tan his groin using red laser beams. All this and more in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
