Our hosts discuss the details of what led to Altman's exit from the AI giant. They then open up on the remarkable fallout that occurred thereafter which included a revolt by most of the OpenAI staff over Altman's dismissal, an extraordinary intervention by key OpenAI investor Microsoft which included a statement of condemnation and them employing Altman and his colleague, Greg Brockman, to head up an 'AI research team' within their own organisation, and the subsequent reinstatement of Altman and Brockman to the OpenAI board as part of a seismic reshuffle that has seen those who were responsible for ousting Altman leave OpenAI themselves!
