The Rest Is...Freelance PR & The Art Of Pitching (With Connor Mitchell)
This week, Jacki and Lyle are joined by the wonderful Connor Mitchell, a freelance PR and communications consultant, and outright pitching extraordinaire! Connor made his name as one of the industry’s best coverage-getters. Having previously been the UK media lead for pan-European, high-growth tech agency, Tyto, after joining as one of the earliest team members, in July 2021, he decided to go it alone as a media relations specialist for B2B technology agencies and brands. In an extremely interesting episode, Connor starts out by telling us about his incredibly busy day before we even went live, with two of his clients having appeared on Ian King on the morning of the recording! Connor later discusses his passion for media relations, as well as his top tips and tricks when it comes to pitching, including ensuring your subject line is both memorable and informative, and embracing the lost art of the phone call to a journalist!
