This week, in Part One of what is the first ever double-bill for the podcast, Jacki and Lyle discuss how ITV, Phillip Schofield, and Holly Willoughby handled the feud between the iconic presenting duo. This episode was recorded immediately after it was announced that Schofield was leaving ITV's flagship daytime television programme, This Morning, for what at the time appeared to be fairly ambiguous reasons relating to his strained relationship with Willoughby behind the scenes. What transpired was a far bigger story, and one which compelled Jacki and Lyle to record a second episode that is being released alongside this one! In Part One, Jacki outlines her view that this scandal should never have been allowed to have gone as far as it has, and Lyle analyses why, given the facts available at the time, it made more sense for Phillip Schofield to leave than Holly Willoughby.
