Alex Livingston $4,000,000 score in WSOP Main Event, poker life and degen stories

Alex Livingston finished 3rd in the WSOP Main Event in 2019. He shares several crazy stories from his professional poker career spanning over a decade. As an example - he once lost $40k playing beerpong at a time when he had less than that to his name.  Another one is about how he went to Amsterdam with a couple of friends for a week and ended up quitting his studies and staying in Amsterdam for 3 months. Of course, he also shares his experience of playing in the final table of the Main Event, random stories about Vegas, casinos around the world, life as a poker player, and his advice to people getting into poker.   Follow Alex on Twitter: https://twitter.com/rumnchess Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rumnchess   CONNECT: Subscribe to this channel: https://bit.ly/runchuks-yt Subscribe to newsletter: https://www.runchukspodcast.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/RunchuksP Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/runchukspoker Coaching: https://bit.ly/bts-coaching   PODCAST INFO: Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/2XlvTro Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2ECWIAF YouTube playlist: https://bit.ly/podcast-yt   OUTLINE 00:00:00 Intro 00:01:29 Alex's background 00:04:14 The turning point 00:12:20 Making a decision to stay in Europe 00:14:05 The key takeaways from the Europe trip 00:15:36 The key qualities to winning at live poker 00:18:30 Top 3 Casinos 00:22:29 Player profiling 00:23:12 Family reaction 00:24:14 The conventional path 00:25:50 First steps on poker 00:31:55 What happened after staying 3 months in Amsterdam 00:34:10 WSOP Main Event Final Table 00:42:11 Approach to live poker 00:45:49 Focus and fun 00:48:13 Keeping it fun in the final table? 00:50:39 Overthinking and playing fast 00:52:50 Writing a book about the lifestyle of a poker player 00:57:42 How to lose 40k playing Beer Pong 01:00:39 What Alex Livingston learned from poker 01:03:40 Overcoming gambling 01:06:03 Life after winning $ 4,000,000.00 on WSOP Main Event 01:11:36 Mixed games 01:20:05 What Alex Livingston learned from poker 01:21:50 Best advice for poker newcomers 01:27:49 How well would you do if you started playing poker today? 01:29:32 How much the poker industry has changed in the past decade 01:31:42 RaúlGonzalez 01:33:35 Isildur1 vs Patrik Antonius $1.3 million pot 01:35:47 Playing at the Wynn, Bellagio, and Aria 01:38:16 Private games in casinos 01:41:32 The GOAT casino floor 01:44:52 Miss playing live poker 01:47:42 Social skills that poker teaches 01:49:56 The beauty of poker 01:52:10 The goal of the upcoming book 01:54:35 Every Hand Revealed - Gus Hansen 01:56:56 Winning 45 buy-ins in a single day 02:00:37 Fun low/mid games 02:02:28 Christmas charity
