S2 Ep5: Hattie Crowther on making non-binary corsets, upcycling football shirts, and Jorja Smith

Today’s guest is Hattie Crowther, fashion designer and lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University and the University of East London. The designer is best known for the bespoke football corsets (and progressive visuals) she showed at London Fashion Week for Spring Summer 2021– singer Mabel has worn one and Jorja Smith commissioned one – and they've been featured on The Face magazine's website. The British Fashion Council sponsored her master’s degree in menswear at the University of Westminster – a real coup for Crowther whose non-binary clothing really celebrates her northern, working-class roots and is inspired by her friends. This conversation took place over Zoom ahead of the exclusive MKRLAB workshop she hosted in central London.Find Hattie on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/hattie.crowtherFelicia here: https://www.instagram.com/feliciapennantMake sure you subscribe to ‘The SEASON podcast’ so you never miss an episode. For more intersectional stories that span football, fashion, and more, follow @season_zine on Instagram and Twitter or visit www.season-zine.com.
