Archbishops have been strategically performing minor exorcisms in places deemed to have evil energy like Portland or San Francisco, after riots, looting or destruction of property. The whole idea of an exorcism is to cleanse or expel an evil force from a location or person. This evil can be looked at as merely the daily battle waged in the mind between light and darkness, but expanded to the ideological cults that destroy the individual in favor of the collective. In this manner, the body is lost to the possessing ideology/force and then begins to operate as part of a legion of demonic warriors. These demonic influences prey on the innocent and weak, or those able to be most corrupted such as is often the case with children.
